WIP Wednesday

Cut into my LillyBelle stash yesterday to start a birthday quilt for my mom.  She is a reader of my blog, so I called her this morning and said "Can you please stay off the blog until after your birthday"?  Her Birthday is September 27th, about a month away.

Do you post gifts on your blog before you give them?

WIP Wednesday...wonky style

Finished my "Four Eyes" Echo mini yesterday.  Being a new quilter, I still have yet to perfect the art of binding a quilt.  Forgive me for the super wonky binding, my choice of binding fabric didn't help!

WIP Wednesday!

There are times when I am excited about a project/block, etc and instead of taking my time and doing it right the first time I rush through or take shortcuts to see the final result sooner.  Example?!  My "Echo" four eyes mini.  Instead of basting correctly, I skipped the basting all together and jumped straight to the quilting.  Result?!  Puckering, badness and seam ripping.  Lesson learned?! I certainly hope so because I'm not a fan of seam ripping and the edges of my fabric are fraying a bit...maybe I'll add an extra "widish" binding..we'll see!

That darn cat!

I love the idea of the "Pets on Quilts" quilt show.  I am a HUGE cat lover and without fail, every time I lay out blocks or fabric on the floor, George runs right over and lays on top...cute, but drives you nuts. I don't thinks that I've ever taken a picture of him laying on a quilt and of course, when I tried to take a picture of him on one of my quilts this morning, he refused and ran away.  I decided to "cheat" a bit and covered him with a vintage dresden feed sack pillow and take pictures before he became upset and ran away again! Here's a link to the quilt show!

"Four Eyes" quilt block finished

Now, mini?  pillow? start of sampler quilt?  Not sure how far I can stretch my "Echo" stash...maybe I'll just make it a mini!

"Four Eyes"

I am totally in love with the blocks in the "Fat Quarterly Shape Workshop for Quilters" book...awesome book!  I started cutting fabric for the "Four Eyes" block by Tacha Bruecher...super cute!

And, I got a package from Westwood Acres!  The fastest shipping ever!  I got 3 more "Lark" charm packs and now I'll be able to finish my mini spider web string quilt...can't wait!

WIP Wednesday

Just started a new project yesterday, I found a great mini patchwork sampler at: and thought that it would be a great way to use all of my "Echo"'s a sneak peek
