I recently bought 2 mini charm packs of "30's Playtime" by Chloe's Closet for Moda. It is one of the cutest fabric lines ever! I had a hard time deciding on a quilt block but though that a super mini Granny Square would be adorable. The squares are all 1.25" square with the standard 1/4 " seam allowance. The finished block is approximately 4" square. I'm thinking that I'll make 12 or 16 blocks in total!
Here's the first block:

WIP Wednesday: Summerlove
My summer project this year is going to be a quilt for my bed. I have been saving a bundle of Summerlove by Pat Bravo from Art Gallery Fabrics since last summer. I decided to make a Grandma's Flower Garden..I love this pattern. I have a vintage Grandma's flower Garden quilt from 1940 that I bought at an estate sale last summer that I absolutely LOVE! I have a charm pack of Summerlove and decided to play around with it before I cut into my stash, so I made a super-mini template from a larger hexi template and started making hexis yesterday...they are addicting!

WIP Wednesday
It's actually a quilt that I finished yesterday. My sister is having a baby boy in 1 month and the shower is this Sunday. She bought me a bias tape maker for Christmas and I tried it out yesterday. It was pretty slick. My least favorite part of making the binding is ironing the long strip in half, and this machine does it for you! This was my first time quilting with flannel, I am pleased with the results!

WIP Wednesday: Quilt Blocks granny squares
I started this quilt quite a few months ago and just brought the blocks out of hibernation a few days ago. I cut the sashing fabric and just need to get it assembled and basted and maybe even quilted today...we'll see. I LOVE this fabric! It's "Quilt Blocks" by Ellen Luckett Baker.
On another note, George, my sweet kitty, has a Halloween costume. It's a cute little Jack O Lantern cat hat and a little green collar. I tried for quite awhile to take his picture yesterday and this is what I got...
Obviously not thrilled! Happy Halloween!

WIP Wednesday...
I'm not sure if this is cheating or not, but I have two finishes this week(so they're not technically a WIP). I finished the Lilly Belle chevron/zigzag and gave it to my Mom on Saturday for her birthday. I also made a mini Halloween Chevron. I did not start any new projects as I have a class for work tomorrow and have been attempting to study for it (the weather's been perfect so it's been difficulty). Please see the two blog posts below for pictures of my finishes.

Cat on Quilt
I laid my Lilly Belle zig-zag on the floor to measure for the binding and like a moth to a flame, George came right over, laid down and started making biscuits! I LOVE cats!
Walk update!
I ended up walking 8.94 miles in 1:40...it is SO beautiful out, I just couldn't stop! I LOVE Minneapolis!
WIP Wednesday!
All day today, Tuesday, I thought that it was Wednesday and I couldn't figure out why nobody else was posting their WIP Wednesday..just figured it out (at 2030) that TODAY IS TUESDAY! Scary! The following post was written this morning (Tuesday). I am done with the quilting (which you can see in my "Cat on Quilt" post..finished constructing the binding too, so I will only have to sew the binding on my next day off (Friday)!
Written Tuesday morning (thinking it was Wednesday):
I am FINALLY almost done with the Lilly Belle birthday quilt for my Mom. Her birthday is Thursday but she is driving up to Minneapolis on Saturday to spend the day with my sister and me. I only have 5 small row of quilting left, but I'm in the middle, at the point where it's hard to maneuver the fabric around. I could have easily finished last night but like all things in life, I procrastinated and will finish the quilting (and binding) today.
I am going to reward myself with a 7 mile walk. we are having some beautiful, warm fall weather in Minneapolis and I HAVE to get out and enjoy it. I usually walk 4 miles, 7 days a week but I've been adding one longer walk a week. The parks and trails and lakes and parkways in Minneapolis are so fantastic that I cannot resist taking FULL advantage of them!

Still working on the Lilly Belle birthday quilt. I finally finished all of the HST's and clipping all of the corners (I press my HST seams open). I had some scraps laying around and made a Japanese X block that I think I'll make into a mini..we'll see. I just can't get enough of this fabric..I LOVE art gallery fabrics!
